Elephant In The Room … The Tour
The Elephant in the Room Tour was initiated in 2023 as a campaign to get people talking about the things we don’t talk about! A 10-city community-focused, female-driven social responsibility initiative, The Elephant In The Room Tour added performances by the soulful “Queens of R&B“ to complement and highlight each stop. “No Boundaries” was included in the theme to express that the tour was comfortable addressing the uncomfortable ills that affect our communities. The Elephant In The Room Tour brought together local entrepreneurs, government officials, influential speakers and interested persons from the community to initiate conversations and discussions about the unspoken truths and social issues that plague our society, such as Mental Health, Social Injustice, Homelessness, Equality, Sexism, Discrimination, Domestic Violence, Guns, Breast Cancer, HIV, Delinquency, Police Misconduct and many others. The tour opened September 30th in Philadelphia, PA and closed on December 7th in Los Angeles, CA.
The Elephant In The Room 2024
The Elephant In The Room Tour returns in 2024 with plans to revisit some markets and introduce the campaign in others. Several dates and markets have been set and are soon to be announced. The tour will retain its previous elements but with a new focus on a “Call to Action.” The theme of the 2024 Elephant In The Room Tour is “Cultivating the Culture,” and the aim is to encourage everyone in the community to take ownership of “the culture” instead of relying on a select few to define it.
The COVID-19 pandemic completely changed the way we interacted with our members, friends, and business colleagues. We had to adapt quickly and be flexible, which revealed some inefficiencies while opening our eyes to new opportunities. As we forge into a new year, our strategic priority is to create and maintain a culture that supports and promotes the African American community, its goals, objectives, and strategies. Cultivating this culture is a shared responsibility, with everyone playing a role in developing and maintaining it. In this “Cultivating The Culture” mindset, we believe everyone is responsible for creating the desired culture. More to come…
